Harvest 4 Christ

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

St. Luke 11:33 (KJV)

Sharing your experiences of receiving Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.

Developing Relationships

First, remember to let your light shine so others may see your good deeds and seek to know the Hope that you have in Jesus Christ.

Second, become a sincere listener. You can earn the right to tell others about Christ by sincerely listening to them. You can win their confidence by showing a genuine interest in them and their concerns, opinions and hurts.

Third, when witnessing to someone remember that you are presenting the Person of Jesus Christ. You are introducing your best friend to our best Friend, Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Avoid presenting Christ in the manner of a telemarketer who is only interested in getting through his or her prewritten speech.

Fourth, you need to emphasize the love of God. Begin your witness on a positive note, and not on a negative one. Let them know what God has done for you and how you have been blessed after accepting His son Jesus Christ.

Fifth, you need to keep it simple. You don’t need to prove the Gospel. God’s Word will work as you tell it by the life you live.

Operation Andrew in five simple steps

LOOK AROUND – Your mission field is right where you live, work or go to school. List names of individuals you know who need Jesus Christ. Pray for them regularly.

LOOK UP – God changes people through prayer. Remember to pray daily for the people on your list, asking God to give you opportunities to talk about His love with them.

LOOK OUT – Find ways to cultivate friendships with the people on your list. Earn their confidence, spend time with them. Offer to cut their yards, baby sit their children at no charge, or invite them to dine with you in your home. Friendships open the way to talk about Christ.

LOOK FORWARD – Talk with each person on your list about attending a special evangelistic event with you. Choose a specific date and invite them. Also invite them to a weekly service and let them know what a great time they will have hearing the Gospel preached by a Real Man of God.

LOOK AFTER – Those who respond to Christ or show interest in the Gospel need your encouragement. If they receive Jesus Christ, continue to pray for them and encourage them to look toward the Head Minister for spiritual guidance. Also continue to pray for those who do not respond to the Gospel.

Community Outreach Opportunities

Seek out volunteer opportunities within your community, city, or town. These opportunities can be for yourself or the church as a group.

Remember before accepting any opportunity that involves the church please consult the Head Minister or his designated group leader first. Also remember to record all contact information for future reference.

Make friends and look for opportunities to invite them to church or a bible study. They will see your light and hopefully inquire more about you. Take this opportunity to share your faith in Jesus Christ.

Prayer Suppers Bible Study Group

Just about everyone enjoys eating. Serving food provides a great opportunity to invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers to your home. Small groups seem to work the best. You want your guest or guests to feel comfortable and welcome.

Join together with one or more couples to share in bringing food to the occasion.

Take this opportunity to witness to your guests, and tell them how Christ has changed your life. Let them know that they too can find peace by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Have your bible ready to reference important scriptures that will answer possible questions.

For questions you don’t understand let them know you will find out and get back to them.

You can also inform them that they may contact your minister. Give them one of his business cards. It is always important to keep any promise you make.

Then, invite them to church to hear the Gospel message from a Real Man of God.

Have bible study group gatherings in your home. Invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

Obtain a lesson plan from your minister.

Arrange a convenient time for the study.

Prepare refreshments for your guests.

Always remember to invite them to church to hear our minister teach.

Witness Groups - Sharing Your Faith

You may want to form witness groups of 2 or more, and prepare for an opportunity to go out and witness in your community.

Remember opportunities to witness may be where you live, work or go to school.

Be polite and observant. If the person or persons you are trying to witness to are showing that they are not interested, don’t force the issue. Just let them know that if in the near future they would like to talk to someone, you will be available.

Remember to pray for them and let them know that you will remember them in your prayers.
In spiritual preparation for sharing your faith in Jesus Christ, always remember to prepare in the following manner:

Pray and study your bible daily.

Pray before you go out to witness.

Look for opportunities on your job, in school or community to tell someone about Jesus Christ and what he has done for you.

Always remember to think safety first.

Witness in groups of 2 or more whenever possible.

Beware of dogs, dark alleys, and unsafe surroundings. Be cautious.
